The Majestic Mt. Mago: A Two-Hour Hike Camping Spot

If you're looking for a perfect spot to camp without spending too much time hiking, Mt. Mago in Carmen, Cebu should be on your top list. It was our group's first time to explore the mountain and the experience was nothing short of the de-stress weekend we were looking for. And to share the itinerary prepared by Nico, who spearheads our mountain adventures, please see below:

 The favorable weather brought less sun which we thank for. Most of the time we traversed on open fields and we were spared from what could have been a burning inferno if the sun was not hiding behind the clouds. The rain decided not to bother us too, just a slight drizzle from time to time but nothing too heavy for the terrain to be muddy.

Unlike some mountains we've climbed, on this one fog started to settle earlier than expected. At some point, there was zero visibility as the fog enveloped the mountains below. There even was a sea of clouds which dissipated after a few minutes (I was not able to take pictures because I still don't know how to take night shots with my camera). It was cold and quiet as expected, a perfect spot for stories and relaxation. Here are some of the photos:

MLD2K: Days in the Mountains of Mindanao

Our most anticipated climb of the year organized by Challenge the Summit.The normal K2DLM climb became MLD2K as we trudged on the reversed-traversed trail. We passed by 5 peaks (hence the Mindanao 5 for 5 peaks) as follows: 1. Mt. Maagnaw Peak, 8th highest peak in the country 2. Langkayugan Peak 3. Bato Peak 4. Mt. Dulang-dulang Peak, the second highest peak in the country 5. Mt. Kitanglad Peak, the 4th highest peak in the country It was indeed a challenging climb. Our eager for adventure bones were fed with  exhaustion and cold by the steep slopes. Tagaytay Hills in Toledo Cebu: Fit for a Caravan of Tents with a Captivating Sunrise to Match

Camping at Tagaytay Hills      Fit for feet adventures, we visited Tagaytay Hills in Toledo, Cebu. The camping spot is overlooking Lake Malubog of Brgy. Casoy. The hike took almost 2 hours (including rests). We did not get a guide as along the way, you can ask around for directions. After a two-hour bus travel from Cebu Southbus Terminal, we arrived at Brgy. Magdugo.We then took a 10-15 minutes motorcycle ride to Brgy. Casoy, the jump-off point. Hike to the campsite was around 2 hours including rests and wait time for the heat to subside. We did not go straight to the campsite because of the sun's glare. If you're planning to camp at the place, better start your walk later than 2 PM so that you can proceed directly to the campsite without having to experience the extreme heat because of the open field trail.
