Unveiling Lake Bensis: Camping Near the Pristine Waters of Toledo

Lake Bensis in Sitio Pingganon, Brgy Loay Toledo, Cebu

Lake Bensis at Sitio Pingganon in Brgy Loay, Toled Cebu is now getting the attention it deserves from outdoor enthusiasts. The lake has been well maintained by the locals judging from the clean water and surrounding area. From mining pit turning to a freshwater lake, the camping experience offers a refreshing weekend getaway.

Expenses:
Php 100/head one way- motorcyle fare
Php 20/head comfort room fee

You can charter a motorcycle in Tabunok, Talisay near the marketplace with RD Pawnshop as the landmark. The road is winding and there are some rough paths along the way, expect a bumpy,30-40 minutes motorcycle ride to the jump off point. You can bring at least 1 liter of drinking water but there are also stores where you can buy your drinking water from near the campsite which would require a short but steep climb back to road.

Walk from the jump off point to campsite is just more or less 10 minutes. Near the campsite is a comfort room area, water for comfort room use can be fetched from the lake.

The community's cooperative sells tilapia fish fresh from the lake for Php 120/kilo and there's an area within the campsite where you can grill, just the complete outdoor experience you're looking for.

And to share, here are the pictures of our adventure:

You can swim in the lake if you want. Our group opted out of the swimming experience as the safest swimming area is across the lake in which we don't have the time to venture out to because of time constraints. And for all those looking for a place  to spend time with nature and relax in a serene environment, this is a must place to visit.
